Hewlett-Packard has confirmed it will launch a webOS-based tablet in early 2011.
During a Q3 earnings call with analysts, HP vice president of Personal Systems Todd Bradley said that the company would leverage the operating system acquired through the acquisition of Palm into a new tablet device, due in the first quarter of next year.
Responding to a question about tablets, Bradley said: "You’ll see us with a Microsoft product out in the near future and a webOS-based product in early 2011."
HP has also just begun searching for a new chief executive to replace the much publicised ousting of former CEO Mark Hurd.
