HP has announced two additions to its business tablet lineup – the ElitePad 1000 and ProPad 600.
Compared to past versions of the ElitePad, the ElitePad 1000 has been upgraded with a brighter and more durable 16:10 touchscreen.
The tablet also features 4G connectivity and 64-bit capabilities.
The ProPad 600 is said by HP to exhibit long battery life, running on Windows 8.1 with x86 compatibility for legacy applications.
HP also launched the HP TX1 POS Solution, a HP ProPad 600-based point-of-sale (POS) solution for retailers.
In addition, the firm announced an expansion of HP Mobile Connect, HP’s international mobile service for business customers, with integrated devices and local plans now available in additional European markets including France, Germany, and Switzerland.
“Our tablets and mobile ecosystem continue to evolve to meet the growing transformation of the workplace,” said Kobi Elbaz, VP of the commercial personal systems, printing and personal systems group for HP EMEA.
“The line between work and life has blurred to the point that it’s now a true blend, where employees increasingly require stylish, business-ready, always-connected mobile devices that don’t make any sacrifices to productivity, reliability or security. And, with the expansion of HP Mobile Connect, even more business customers in Europe will be able to connect whenever and wherever they want.”
The HP ElitePad is expected to be available in EMEA from March 2014, with the HP ProPad 600 available one month later in April 2014.
The HP TX1 POS Solution is expected to be available in EMEA in the second half of 2014.
HP Mobile Connect is available now in Europe with plans in Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands and the UK, and from April 1st in France, Germany and Switzerland.
