HP has added a number of new business-orientated devices to its Elite range.

The products include the EliteBook Flio 1040 G1 Ultrabook, which HP says is the ‘world’s thinnest’ EliteBook – coming in at 16.1 per cent thinner and 7.3 per cent lighter than the previous generation.

Joining the Ultrabook is a desktop computer, the EliteDesk 800 G1 Business Desktop Mini. Along with its also-announced brother, the ProDesk 600 G1, the EliteDesk is claimed to be HP’s smallest-ever desktops.

The system is built inside a one litre chassis, which HP says “takes up less space than most office phones”.

Joining the series of ‘firsts’ for the company, HP’s first Windows 8-certified touch monitor was also revealed. The EliteDisplay S230tm is a 23-inch multitouch monitor with antiglare glass, design for use in businesses.

Businesses weren’t the only audience addressed by the new range of products. HP unveiled the latest addition to its Classmate range of computers designed with students in mind.

The Classmate 10 notebook is based on a Future Intel classmate PC reference design, running on the Intel Celeron N2000 series of processors and installed with Windows 8.1.

The Spectre 13 Pro was also announced, a mobile Ultrabook 15mm thick and weighing 1.5kg. The Spectre is built using aluminium, runs on fourth gen Intel Core i3 or i5 processors, includes a solid-state drive and has the option of a Quad HD display.

HP’s EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 will be available in the UK from mid-December with a starting price of £1,380, while the EliteDesk 800 G1 Desktop Mini is expected to be released across EMEA in April 2014 with a starting price of €499 (£419).

The EliteDisplay S230tm is expected to be available across EMEA from March 2014 with a starting price of €349 (£293), the ProDesk 600 G1 Business Desktop Mini predicted for a release across EMEA in April 2014 with a starting price of €399 (£335), the Classmate 10 notebook set for an EMEA launch in January 2014 and the Spectre 13 Pro available in the UK from mid-December with a starting price of £979.
