How to export RSS feeds from Google Reader

After today, Google Reader will no longer be available, meaning users need to make sure they export their RSS feeds ready to import into their next reader of choice.

Here’s how it’s done:

  • Log into Google Reader and click the Settings icon, then select Reader Settings.
  • Select the Import/Export tab and select Download your data through Takeout (situated underneath Export Your Information).
  • After downloading the .zip file you will find an .xml file within the archive. This is the file you will need to import into the new reader of your choice.
