Google's latest dog robot can stay upright when kicked - video

Following Google’s acquisition of Boston Dynamics in 2013, the company has released a video featuring a new robot dog.

The two-minute entry features Spot, a smaller version of the giant BigDog robot, a 240-pound device the two comapnies developed in 2013.

Spot weighs 160-pounds and can navigate around an office on its own, climb hills and flights of stairs.

During the video office workers try to kick Spot over, but the robot dog is able to stay upright.

In the video, the electric-powered dog also goes for a jog that navigates with the help of its head-mounted sensor.

Google and Boston Dynamics haven’t revealed what Spot is intended for, as BigDog was a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) project.

So we will have to wait and see what Spot will be used for, but you can check out the video for Spot below:
