Visitors can fly around the world with Google Maps

Google’s first retail store: In pictures

PCR stopped by Google’s very first store-within-a-store in Tottenham Court Road’s Currys/PC World outlet.

Designed to offer customers a unique try-before-you-buy experience, visitors got the chance to try out Google’s range of smartphones and tablets.

Inside the store, there is a giant surround screen, which has been dubbed the ‘portal’ that allows users to fly around the world using Google Maps.

There is also a virtual screen where users can create their own Google doodle and dabble in graffiti art with a digital spray can.

Plus, visitors can also take a break, sit down and watch a movie in the Chromecast Pod, which is casted through Google’s new Chromecast dongle.
