Google is inviting ‘creators’ to test out its new Jump virtual reality (VR) camera.

During the Google I/O 2015 conference, the firm revealed that it had teamed up with GoPro to create the 360-degree camera, which is capable of capturing VR videos.

The device connects 16 GoPro cameras together, which provides users with the 360-degree viewing angle, plus videos can also be uploaded to YouTube.

Users can sign up here to test the Jump, where Google said: “Select creators will get access to Jump starting this summer. If you're interested in hearing more or getting the chance to take a Jump camera out for a spin, sign up below.”

Although the company is looking for filmmakers and artists, anyone can sign up to try out the device.

This news comes after Google updated Google Maps, which will now tell users if the destination they are traveling to is open.

Maps will also tell users the opening times of the destination as well as the estimated time of arrival.
