As Microsoft is making its products more freely available through the web, internet giant Google is passing it on the other side of the road, looking to make a move into the channel.
The company, which made its money with the world’s biggest search engine, is forging partnerships with bricks and mortar IT resellers to market its web based software suite Google Apps, according to Reuters.
"This is a chance for those types of companies to get into the cloud computing revolution," said Dave Girouard, president of enterprise at Google.
Google Apps includes word processing and spreadsheet programs, and has been seen as a direct rival to Microsoft’s dominating Office software since it launched in 2007.
The reseller program appears to be exclusive to the US at the moment, however we will bring you news of any plans for the UK channel following our investigations.
