Global Mobile Awards 2014 winners unveiled: HTC One crowned best smartphone

The winners of the 19th annual Global Mobile Awards have been announced at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Hosted by comedian James Corden, the ceremony saw HTC take home one of the biggest awards on the night, Best Smartphone, beating the likes of Apple’s iPhone 5S with its flagship HTC One device.

Apple may have missed out on the Best Smartphone award, but it did win the Best Mobile Tablet award for the iPad Air.

Nokia took home a number of awards for its low-cost and entry-level smartphones as well as an award for Best Mobile Infrastructure.
