GfK launches Supply Chain Management Insights

GfK has unveiled a new solution to address the growing challenges of managing an end-to-end global supply chain for IT and technology retailers, resellers, distributors and more.

GfK Supply Chain Management Insights will consist of four core elements, which can be taken separately or as a complete service showing the full, end-to-end supply chain picture:

– Order management & logistics optimisation
Stock keeping unit (SKU) distribution data across 34 European markets, enabling businesses to evaluate product performance, compare logistical performance against competitors and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
– Sales management & marketing optimisation
Reseller and retail sales tracking data for the world’s largest sample of technology products, allowing businesses to evaluate product performance at the point of sale, compare against competitors and identify growth opportunities from a sales and marketing perspective.
– Volume management & sales planning
Short- and long-term forecasting based on GfK’s distribution and point-of-sales data, allowing businesses to align product availability with expected market demand.
– Information management
Product catalogs giving full specifications and features of consumer goods and technology products, enabling businesses to save time by having accurate information from one source.

“Our clients needed one consistent and comprehensive view of the entire, end-to-end supply chain,” commented Rudi Aunkofer, global director for IT at GfK.

“We have provided that by bringing together the complex data sets for distribution, retail and reseller information into one single database – the first agency to achieve this.

“Our clients can now get consistent reporting across 34 European countries, segmented by regions, features, channels, customers and price bands – and this universal view will make it much easier to identify improvements and efficiencies within their supply chain, to optimise performance and profitability.”
