New venture aims to make waves in audio-visual market, which it says is set for massive growth

Former TCA boss starts new channel group

Keith Warburton, former president of UK trade body the TCA, has started a new independent channel group for the video communications industry – in partnership with Imago Group founder Ian Vickerage and Maggie Zaboura, head of marketing and PR agency, Zaboura.

The new enterprise, called CloudPresence, will educate resellers on ‘VC’ products and issues, promote uptake of the sector, and represent its interests to government.

“Video communications is a technology whose time has come,” said Warburton. “Most of the developed countries face great challenges with regard to business travel and the whole world is suffering the impact of climate change. VC offers a solution to some of those issues, but the technology and the rapid market growth bring their own challenges. We aim to promote the technology, to facilitate reseller partnering nationally and internationally, and to help address some of the issues.”

The organisation claims that we can expect a 2,000 per cent growth in some areas of the market. “The VC market has enjoyed fantastic growth and profitability,” said Vickerage. “The issue now is how it is going to keep up with the demand caused by various technological developments, not least desktop-connected HD video. There is 2,000 per cent growth forecast in that area alone. A great opportunity exists for IT resellers and their clients to benefit from this market.”

CloudPresence is due to launch a ‘collaborative initiative’ soon, with the aim of driving uptake of this new technology.
