Former EA exec joins Angry Birds maker Rovio to head Stockholm studio

Oskar Burman, former head of EA’s Easy Studios has been announced as the new general manager of Rovio’s Stockholm games studio.

Best known for the Angry Birds franchise as well as latest game Amazing Alex, Rovio is hiring game developers, programmers, artists and producers, showing the company has no plans to slow down.

Burman’s twitter feed revealed that the new office is opening up today: “Super excited to let you know I’m the new GM of Rovio Stockholm, opening up shop today.”

“Rovio Sthlm will be growing aggressively, with focus on both new and familiar brands,” said another tweet, implying that there’s plenty more Angry Birds to come perhaps?

“Oskar’s experience, vision, and track record speaks for itself,” said Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games at Rovio. “We’re delighted to welcome Oskar to the flock and look forwarding to building a highly creative games development team in Stockholm under his leadership.”
