After the viral success of Flappy Birds, its creator Dong Nguyen, has unleashed his newest game, Swing Copters.

Like its predecessor, the game requires players to tap the screen in order to command the helicopters flight path, while avoiding swinging hammers at the same time.

Users can download the iOS and smartphone game for free today from the App Store, with an optional $0.99 in-app purchase to remove all adverts.

However, will Nguyen’s second installment be as popular as Flappy Birds, which according to App Annie, the provider of app store analytics, received more downloads in one week during January 2014 then any other perennial app, such as YouTube and Candy Crush Saga.

Even though Flappy Birds was removed from app stores on the 9th February, its download volume was still large enough to conquer the download charts.

Statistics revealed that Flappy Birds reached the number one spot on the iPhone top overall download charts in 126 countries, as well as reaching number one in the iPad chart.

Gears Studios also launched the game on Google Play back in February, and within seven days, Flappy Birds had reached number one on the US Google Play top overall chart.

So we will have to wait and see how popular the new game will be. Check out the trailer for the game below.
