Microsoft has launched the first Windows 10 previews for its mobile devices boasting a host of new features.

Until now the only previews of the new OS have been for PC users, however users will now be able to experience it on their mobile.

To get stuck into the trial run, those interested must download the Windows Insider app from the Windows Phone Store.

Once they have done so, they will be able to see what is new for the devices, such as interactive notifications, speech-to-text and a new photo app.

Other treats from Microsoft include a browser rendering engine, options to customise the start screen, and quicker actions in the action centre, such as instant replies to messages, dismissing alarms and accessing maps.

The preview only works on the Lumia 630, 635, 636, 638, 730 and 830 at the moment and requires 8GB worth of space and for the device to already have Windows Phone 8.1 installed at the time of purchase otherwise it won’t work.

The company will continue rolling out previews up until the release date for users to try out and offer feedback on.
