Firefox became Europe’s most widely used internet browser last month, having gained 38.1 per cent market share.
According to the figures from StatCounter, Firefox managed to edge ahead of Internet Explorer, which held 37.52 per cent market share, for the first time ever.
The development has been attributed to two factors, firstly has been strong gains made by Google Chrome at Internet Explorers expense, and secondly has been the EU ruling that all computers sold within its territory must offer consumers a choice of browser.
