Mozilla has released the latest and final beta version of the foundation’s Firefox 4 browser before an official release in 2011.

Firefox 4 beta 8 addresses more than 1,400 bug fixes and adds improvements as a streamlined set up process for Firefox Sync, the Mozilla service that synchronizes bookmarks and passwords in the cloud, similar to that offered by Google’s Chrome and the Google Toolbar plug-in.

The new beta also sees further improvements in WebGL support as well as a makeover for the extensions management system including support for extensions to update without user intervention. Minor improvements in JavaScript performance are also promised.

Firefox Beta 8 has been launched for Windows, Mac OSX and Linux desktops and the fledgling resource hogging Android-version also got a much needed update.
