The burgeoning consumer electronics market has created the perfect opportunity to sell home networking products, says TP-LINK.

The networking vendor has released a new white paper, in conjunction with PCR and free to PCR readers, which advises technology resellers how to capitalise on this sector.

Imagine an average family today with a smart TV, laptop, at least two tablets, an e-reader, a games console, wireless printer, and wireless speakers. They might look up recipes on a tablet in the kitchen, stream audio onto Wi-Fi speakers in bedrooms, or use the laptop from the garden on a hot summer’s day.

The wireless router provided by their ISP is unlikely to provide all of their networking needs, or offer sufficient flexibility to satisfy the wireless demand.

TP-LINK says this is an excellent opportunity for resellers to increase the value of their customers’ shopping baskets with add-on or primary sales.

The retail sector has undergone a challenging few years. Big brands have disappeared from High Streets all over the UK. To survive, retailers must be savvier than ever, stocking big ticket items that might bring customers to store, alongside smaller, complementary items where they can build margin and profit.

Many consumers don’t understand how the increasing amount of smart devices impacts their home network, or how simple it is to remedy any problems with products like powerline adapters and range extenders.
