Neil Meredith will assume his new position from April

Exspect founder to move into strategic role

The founder and commercial director of Exspect is set to take on a new part-time strategic development role at the accessories vendor, beginning in April 2010.

In his new position, Neil Meredith will be responsible for new territory and developing opportunities for the brand and its partners.

Exspect was acquired in 2006 by distributor Gem, which has since invested in assembling an experienced managerial team to support the vendor’s growth.

Chris Peacock, managing director of Gem, said: “We have been investing for some time to enable Neil’s role to become more strategic and twelve new appointments in the UK, Europe and Hong Kong are a clear demonstration of this. In Mike Sanderson, Danny Coe and Roger Fok we have a very strong, experienced management team that will be supported by Neil as we take the Exspect brand to bigger and better things.”

“Neil has been central to the success of Exspect and has developed a great team that we feel confident will further develop that success. Releasing Neil from the day-to-day management of the business will enable him to create new initiatives that will further enhance our position in the market.”

Meredith added: “I am delighted to have reached this agreement, I love the Exspect brand and I am really proud of what the team have achieved in the past 5 years. This new, more flexible partnership allows me to help the management team to take the business forward while developing my other interests. The bottom line is that all we want to achieve is even greater things for Exspect and from what I can see in the pipeline the future is incredibly positive.”

Exspect is set to announce two new licensing agreements for its Apple and video gaming accessories range in the coming weeks.
