Exertis signs smartphone manufacturer Wileyfox

Exertis will now distribute Wileyfox’s range of smartphone devices in the UK.

The phones are Wileyfox’s first devices in partnership with the operating system Cyanogen – an enhanced version of Android, built on top of Google’s releases of that platform.

Wileyfox is the first mobile manufacturer to offer the new commercial variant of Cyanogen 12.1 within Europe.

“Wileyfox has developed a great product that consumers around the world are demanding, Cyanogen, and they are bringing this to market in a great device at a great price. Once again Exertis has recognised an exciting new technology for its future potential. By backing Wileyfox in this exclusive relationship we will enable the company to get to the people that want it,” said Simon Woodman, mobile sales director at Exertis.

“Exertis is always focused on bringing the cutting edge of technology to its customers, and this new mobile operating system puts us on the bleeding edge. We expect the user base of Cyanogen and therefore Wileyfox’s device sales to grow exponentially, and we are helping our resellers to get these exciting products out to end users.”

Nick Muir, CEO at Wileyfox, added: “Wileyfox is delighted to be the first brand to bring the latest Cyanogen OS, adding unrivalled levels of customisation, privacy and security features to Android 5.1. These handsets contain top tier hardware components and start at only £129 RRP. Our exclusive partnership with Exertis in the UK has been a critical part of the launch.”

The devices are available from Exertis now.
