Exertis appoints new Components and Business Development managers

Distributor Exertis has appointed Jordan Hobday as Components Business Unit product manager.

Having previously spent over two years with Exertis’ component partner Gigabyte, Hobday will be based at Exertis’ Basingstoke office where he will be responsible for managing key partners including Asus, Corsair, EVGA, Gigabyte and MSI.

Prior to his time at Gigabyte, Jordan spent two years at Exertis as an Account Manager within the Components sales team.

“I am very excited to be joining Exertis’ Components Business Unit. Having worked with them as both an Exertis Account manager and as a vendor, I know I’m joining an industry-leading team and business. Exertis has the most comprehensive PC component and peripheral product portfolio and I’m looking forward to working with the highly motivated sales and management teams to grow this further,” said Hobday.

“I hope to use my experience to add to the wealth of expertise that already exists here, and to continue the already fantastic growth into the system integration and retail markets. I’m keen to use the relationships and knowledge I have developed to add value by driving growth from day one.”

Commenting on Hobday’s appointment, Stuart Hatch, Exertis’ Components general manager, said, “I am pleased to welcome Jordan back into the business. He will be a key part of our continued focus, success and growth within the PC Gaming and Components marketplace and I am sure he will make an invaluable contribution to the business within a short space of time.”

Exertis has also announced the appointment of Ian Ainsworth as Business Development Manager. In this newly-created role, he will be responsible for the management, relationship and development of business across the B2B channel, and to build on recent success that saw B2B business grow 32 per cent last year.

His main focus will be to work with key resellers to support them in developing their client business across all brands. With seven years’ experience at Exertis under his belt, mostly as a product specialist, Ainswoth’s career also includes senior roles in product marketing at PC World and MyTravel PLC.

“This is an exciting time to be appointed and I am looking forward to creating and developing existing relationships within the channel. There are lots of new initiatives and ideas which are being implemented across the business which will help to support our customers further,” said Ainsworth.

Last week Exertis announced the appointment of its new Chief Operating Office, Kevin Paterson. He will head up the company’s logistics and warehousing operations, covering forward and reverse logistics.
