Vendor claims German laws nullify Apple's EULA preventing installation on non-Macs

European firm begins shipping Mac clones

German vendor HyperMegaNet has begun shipping Mac clones with Apple’s OS X 10.5 pre-installed to the European market.

The firm claims to have found a legal loophole in German law that allows the production and sale of what have become known as Hackintoshes.

Its claim has been backed up by suggestions that Apple’s EULA is not valid under German – and to an extent, European – antimonopoly legislation.

HyperMegaNet’s range – branded PearC – is available in a variety of configurations starting at €500 (£438) all the way up to €3,294 (£2,870).
