Simulation game reaches number two, one place behind The Sims 3 Movie Stuff

Euro Truck Sim 2: Go East climbs budget PC game chart

Euro Truck Simulator 2: Go East has driven straight into the number two spot in the UK budget PC boxed game chart.

The title went on sale on September 20th and was the only new budget entry to enter the Top Ten this week. PCR went hands-on with Euro Truck Sim 2: Go East here.

Despite its initial success, it wasn’t enough to pip The Sims 3: Movie Stuff at the top of the chart, which knocked World of Warcraft off the top spot last week.

In the UK boxed full-price PC game chart, there were two new entries into the Top Ten this week – The Elder Scrolls: Anthology at number four and Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 at number five. The latter also reached number two in the All Formats chart.

Grand Theft Auto 5 of course topped the All Formats chart after becoming the fastest-selling game ever.

It has sold more in its first week than the launch weeks of all other GTA titles combined. Its launch week is 2.4 times greater than that of GTA 4 and it beat previous best Call of Duty: Black Ops by almost 250,000 units. Xbox 360 accounted for 57 per cent of sales and PS3 43 per cent.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn returned to the PC full-priced boxed game chart at number eight, after it went on sale again.
