Research has found that confidence is returning to the US enterprise sector, with large and medium businesses planning to invest in IT in the next six months.
However, the CDW IT Monitor report also found that small businesses are still unlikely to commit to IT expenditure.
Eighty three per cent of the large businesses surveyed are expected to purchase new software over the course of the next six months, and 28 per cent of large businesses are anticipated to hire additional staff.
Only 21 per cent of small businesses expect to have an increased IT budget during this timeframe – eight per cent less than previously thought.
“This downturn has not followed the path of previous ones, making it more difficult to predict the shape of the recovery,” said CDW’s executive for market insights, Mark Gambill. “IT confidence has held steady for nearly four months, and we're now beginning to see signs of a patchy turnaround with medium and large businesses anticipating future growth.”
