Entatech raises £2,000 for charity in boat race

Entatech’s staff members have raised over £2,000 for Severn Hospice by competing in a boat race.

Each year Shropshire based charity Severn Hospice holds the annual Dragon Boat Race at the Pengwern Boat Club in Shrewsbury. Teams from all across Shropshire paddle it out to see who will be victorious – whilst also raising money for a fantastic cause.

As Entatech found out, it is also a great way to get the competitive spirit flowing as their team, Enta-tech-No-Notice, took part in a traditional head-to-head race against sister company, Entanet, in which Entatech were crowned jubilant winners.

Getting into the spirit dressed as sailors, Entatech competed in a number of races throughout the day, reaching the semi-finals. Although they unfortunately didn’t get through this stage, they walked away with the second fastest time in the qualifying rounds. In one race, the team’s drummer even took an unfortunate dip in the River Severn when the boat nearly capsized!

Jon Atherton, Entatech Director, commented: “We’ve been a massive supporter of the Severn Hospice for a number of years and always jump at the chance to participate in the annual Dragon Boat race. Not only is this a great way to raise money for a worthwhile cause and a great team building exercise, but it also poses an opportunity for us to bring our two companies together, strengthening our bond as a group.”
