MD Stuart Carlisle says physical sales trial at Gadget Show Live was "a great success"

Ebuyer ‘still a long way’ from opening High Street stores

UK tech etailer Ebuyer.com says it is still a long way from opening its first stores, but is remaining positive about the idea.

PCR broke the news last year that Ebuyer.com was considering opening High Street shops, with MD Stuart Carlisle saying: "We have considered it and once we have found the most effective model for our customer base, we will act upon it."

Last week Ebuyer exhibited at the Gadget Show Live at the Birmingham NEC all week, where it sold products to attendees direct over the counter for the first time at a consumer event.

The trial was a success, and could influence the online retailer to open its first stores in the future.

Carlisle told PCR: "The Gadget Show Live was a great success, we had lots of customer interaction and feedback which is something we are always wanting to improve on.

"It got pretty hectic over the weekend so it was a great trial for our payment system. Product sales were also very high, which is always a bonus when an online retailer goes to a physical unit.

"We’re still a long way from opening stores, but for the time being everything is looking very positive and we will continue our trials and tests."

PCR will be the first to bring you more news on this, so make sure you’re signed up to our daily email alerts.
