LG has confirmed that the dual-core Android-powered LG Optimus 2X smartphone will go on sale in the British market in February.
The device had earlier appeared on mobile hardware specialist retailer Expansys with a 21st of February release date but a LG spokesperson apparently confirmed a 'mid to late February" date to Pocket-Lint.
The LG Optimus 2X is the first of a new generation of smartphones armed with dual 1GHz ARM processors as part of the Nvidia Tegra 2 chip and also features a HDMI output.
The HDMI output was demonstrated to good effect at the CES show when Nidia boss Jen-Hsun Huang used the phone to demonstrate playing games on a TV set.
Huang said HDMI was an example of the type of interface that the upcoming 'super phones' would offer.
