Content providers struggle to match initial sales

The Audit Bureau of Circulations has reported a decline in sales for digital magazine titles on devices such as the iPad.

According to Fortune, the consumer tech magazine Wired saw initial sales for its iPad edition of 100,000 copies in its debut month, but these figures sank to just 23,000 in November. Similar cases include Glamour, Vanity Fair, Mens Health and GQ.

In order to continue to incentivise content providers, Apple is reported to be considering sharing the personal data of subscribers with publishers.
