Vendor aims to steal HP tablet market share

Dell to launch tablet PC

The curiosity of many tablet PC fans will soon be met by the launch of the Dell Latitude XT. The widescreen convertible tablet PC has a biometric reader and is allegedly due for launch within weeks.

The move is seen as potentially hazardous, however, as the tablet form-factor has never wow-ed the market and following many previous failures, Dell will need to market the XT carefully.

Jeff Clarke, general manager for Dells business partner group, confirmed Dell will enter the tablet market in a video here. “XT is designed for education, healthcare and for the corporate market place,” he says in the video.

Meanwhile, Round Rockers has produced a promo video that shows a particularly disgruntled Tablet user sawing his machine in half here.
