Seven-inch, low cost tablet arrives in the UK

Dell Streak 7 lands

Dell has launched the Streak 7, a seven-inch Android 2.2 tablet selling at a comparatively low cost of £299.

Specs wise, the device has a 5MP rear facing camera, dual core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2, 16 GB internal memory and Flash support.

Currently only the wi-fi model is available, but a 3G version will be coming later this spring, we’re assured.

While the iPad obviously remains a tough product to compete against, occupying the smaller, cheaper area of the market could give Dell some traction with the Streak.

“Dell is continuing to create the very best in entertainment, mobile and gaming experiences,” said Aongus Hegarty, vice-president of Dell’s Consumer, Small and Medium Business unit for EMEA. “With Streak 7, families, students and mobile professionals will gather, share, and find new ways to interact and keep in touch.”
