4K may no longer be the pinnacle of display models - Dell has unveiled a new 5K UltraSharp monitor worth £1,545 ($2,500).

The Ultra HD 5K device features a 5120x2880 display, which has nearly twice as many pixels as a 4K display – 14,745,600 versus 8,294,400.

Dell says Ultra HD 5K is equivalent to four times the resolution of QHD and seven times the resolution of Full HD.

As well as this, the company’s PremierColor tech and anti-smudge/anti-reflection edge-to-edge glass features across the 27-inch wide display.

It will also feature two Harman Kardon 16W speakers, as well as six USB ports, a card reader and an adjustable base.

The panel comes out at 218 pixels per inch with a total of 14.7 million pixels, which is similar to Apple’s 15.4-inch Retina MacBook Pro.

Creative professionals are the intended audience for the new device; however, gamers may also be interested due to the large pixel resolution.

The monitor will be available in Q4 this year.
