CHANNEL EXPO 2010: Kingston demos SSD, and distributors RET UK and J&J Associates display their product portfolios

Day two of Channel Expo

Kingston Technology had one of the busiest stands at Channel Expo today as the firm offered visitors the chance to win one of its solid state drives.

The memory vendor was showing off its range of USB sticks, including the ‘world’s biggest’, the 256GB. Also visible were encrypted USBs for corporate customers and a selection of flash cards.

Visitors to the stand were given a demonstration of the SSD versus a traditional hard drive, and also had the chance to win one for themselves by playing a racing game.

RET UK’s sales and purchasing consultant, David Shepherd, said the distributor was using this year’s Channel Expo to meet new and existing resellers – primarily independents. The firm was displaying its range of replacement laptop batteries and chargers, including one multi-battery charger aimed at the education market. Customers were also offered marketing materials and advice on their recycling obligations.

Distributor J&J Associates’ stand was filled with a range of peripherals and accessories, including laptop bags, novelty mice and computer hygiene products.

Buying group Synaxon, meanwhile, was demonstrating its Egis online ordering system and McCue Cartridge Expert was looking to sell its ink refilling machines.
