Black Friday deals cause websites to crash

Currys, Argos and Tesco sites crash after Black Friday meltdown

Currys, Argos and Tesco websites have already crashed following the popularity of Black Friday.

Customers are informed that they may have to wait over an hour before they gain access to Currys’ site, while Tesco’s site buckled under the pressure this morning.

Currys’ website states: “We’re really sorry that the huge demand for our deals means you’re having to wait.

“We really appreciate your patience and we’ll have you on our site as soon as possible.”

Currys are offering a range of discounted products including the Google Nexus 9 tablet for £319.99 and the Microsoft surface Pro for £749, originally priced at £849.

Argos has also released a statement: "We’re currently experiencing a very high volume of visitors to our website.

"To ensure everyone can enjoy the best shopping experience, we’re limiting the number of additional visitors entering the site at the moment. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please try again in a few minutes."

Tesco is also offering customers a saving of £150 on Blaupunkt’s 50-inch Full HD 1080p LED TV, while the Xbox One console is priced at £289.

Tesco also revealed that Black Friday would exceed Boxing Day sales for the first time this year.

However, Dixons Carphone is expecting Black Friday to lead its second biggest sales weekend of the year.
