Omni Universal Liquid Cooling is made for high spec AMD cards

CoolIT launches GPU cooling system

CoolIT has created a new cooling system aimed at maximising the performance of AMD’s ATI Radeon HD 5870 GPU.

Utilising the liquid cooling method that will be familiar to user of the Domino ALC system, the Omni features a universal liquid plate that CoolIT says not only covers current generation graphics cards, but also offers future compatibility as well.

The factory sealed, maintenance-free system was demonstrated earlier today at the AMD Technical Forum and Exposition in Taiwan, and it is claimed that the device lowers the acoustic effects caused by fans and offers the reliable reduced temperatures needed to overclock the GPU.

“Since starting our work with AMD several years ago, one of the challenges has been the fast succession of technology advances,” said CoolIT’s CEO Geoff Lyons.

“By working hard to develop a solution that can keep up to the pace of technology advancement as well as providing the end user the flexibility to upgrade their cards while keeping the cooling system intact, we feel that this is a winning combination. The solution showcases an ultra reliable, brazed heat exchanger to ensure that it will provide excellent performance for years to come.”
