Vaughan Shayler comes on board the trade association

CompTIA appoints new Director for UK Channel Strategy

Non-profit trade association CompTIA has hired Vaughan Shayler as its new director for UK Channel Strategy.

Shayler has a background in both ICT service delivery and general management, occupying roles from ICT director in both public and private sectors through to general manager of private companies.

William Linard, CompTIA’s senior member engagement manager, commented: "Vaughan joins us having spent the previous seven years leading on the design, development and implementation of a specialist ICT certification scheme (credential) for SMEs in the UK.

"This was initially on behalf of The National Computing Centre (NCC) and then as a stand-alone business, which Vaughan became proprietor of. He joined the NCC specifically for this purpose, as it combined two of his career-long passions – effective use of ICT to improve businesses and commitment to customer and service quality.

"Away from work, Vaughan spends most of his time involved in junior sport. He is chair of his local junior football club, which provides training and matches for over 180 players aged from four to 18, in 13 different teams, and also helps out in the cricket and rugby clubs where his 13-year-old son plays.”
