CMS Distribution signs AlienVault

CMS Distribution has partnered with AlienVault, a provider of Unified Security Management (USM) and crowd-sourced threat intelligence solutions.

Powered by threat intelligence from AlienVault Labs and the AlienVault Open Threat Exchange, which claims to be the world’s largest crowd-sourced threat intelligence network, AlienVault USM is a security platform designed to ensure mid-market organisations can effectively detect and defend themselves against emerging threats.

“AlienVault provides a comprehensive and unified product suite that caters for IT security and audit requirements in areas such as Threat Management, Network Security, Vulnerability Management and also Compliance, including GPG13, ISO 27002 and PCI (including v3.0), and the demand for these shows in terms of the growth that AlienVault and other vendors have been experiencing over the last few years,” said Marcus Bonner, pre-sales manager at CMS Distribution.

Justin Griffiths, Group Director for Software Solutions at CMS Distribution, added: "CMS Distribution, with its over 3,000 resellers, represents a cogent route to increase sales of the AlienVault Unified Security Management platform into the UK and Ireland market, due to its strong position within the open source space, already representing vendors such as Red Hat, SUSE and EnterpriseDB."

Justin Endres, SVP of Worldwide Sales at AlienVault, commented: "With the addition of CMS Distribution, we have an accelerated path to those resellers who are seeking alternatives to costly and resource-intensive SIEM solutions.”

AlienVault is a privately held company headquartered in Silicon Valley and backed by Trident Capital, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, GGV Capital, Intel Capital, Sigma West, Adara Venture Partners, Top Tier Capital and Correlation Ventures.
