CMS Distribution is planning to grow further in 2014 following its acquisition of the UK enterprise software distributor Interactive Ideas.

Founder and managing director Frank Salmon told PCR: “We have a corporate goal of 20 per cent annual growth and plan to deliver revenue of £200 million in 2014. We plan to grow both organically and through acquisition.
“Interactive is a very successful growing business with a great team and it represents some quality vendors including Red Hat.”

CMS has said that it will continue to run the business under the Interactive Ideas brand for the foreseeable future with Michael Trup remaining as managing director.

The distributor says it will be able to offer even more to its customers, who are set to benefit from the addition in terms of increased technical resources and additional enterprise software solutions.

“There are great benefits to our customers, vendors and our staff,” added Salmon.

“We will have more innovative technology and opportunities to work with, and sell to, more customers.”

CMS claims that the acquisition makes it the largest independent value-added distributor in the UK and Ireland. But it is not the only distributor plotting acquisitions. Exertis – the firm formally known as DCC SerCom – has revealed plans to expand across Europe in a bid to become the largest IT and home entertainment distributor in Europe.
