Bids begin for the bankrupt US electronics retail chain

Circuit City auctioned off today

The two-day process of auctioning off embattled electronics retail chain Circuit City has begun today.

The firm’s miscellaneous assets, which include property, inventory, internet businesses and the firm’s own company airplanes, will be the first components of the operation to be sold.

It is understood Asda parent Wal-Mart is among the interested parties.
According to Twice, it is still hoped that the retailer can continue trading following an deal with a ‘white knight’ bidder.
