This year’s CES has already broken records with more that 3,200 exhibitors across the largest show floor in history.
With more than two million net square feet of exhibit space, the eve of the show saw tech titans Intel and Audi deliver keynote speeches.
Intel’s new CEO, Brian Krzanich, spoke about a number of products and projects from the firm, including RealSense – software that lets users interact with their devices via gestures and speech.
Intel also showcased a new ‘smart earpiece’ called the Jarvis, which listens to voice commands and can make appointments, check messages and set reminders.
Intel has also been working on innovating the humble PC. Krzanich described Intel’s ‘Edison’ as a ‘full Pentium-class PC’. The device is a miniature computer the size of an SD card, which is powered by a dual-core Quark ‘system-on-a-chip’ (SOC) and includes Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity options.
Audi delivered the second keynote of Monday night where Rupert Stadler, chairman of the board of management of Audi AG, discusses the future of innovation in the automotive industry.
Audi introduced its highly anticipated Sport Quattro LaserlightV8 hybrid concept car. The vehicle can go 90 miles on a single gallon of gas and will be available in piloted driving mode.
