CeBIT puts spotlight on ‘Shareconomy’

There’s only one month to go to CeBIT (March 5th-9th), and the organisers of this year’s ICT trade show have revealed that it’s dedicated to co-operation and the sharing of knowledge.

“Blogs, wikis, collaboration, polls and further software solutions are going to dynamically change our working world in the coming years”, commented Frank Pörschmann, senior vice president for CeBIT at Deutsche Messe. “In all its facets, sharing is proving pivotal to achieving responsible growth.”

A combination of exhibition, conferences, keynotes, corporate events and business lounges, CeBIT in Hannover, Germany takes place from March 5th-9th this year and PCR readers can pick up tickets for free.

In March 2012 CeBIT registered more than 4,200 participating companies from 70 nations, 312,000 visitors from 110 nations and over 5,000 journalists from across the globe.Attending guests included more than 500 CIOs from international corporations with a purchasing volume of more than 50 billion euros 

CeBIT visitors will find the show divided into four main topic platforms. The “CeBIT Pro” sector showcases companies with professional applications for small and medium-sized all the way to multinational enterprises. “CeBIT gov” features solutions for municipal, state and federal agencies as well as the European Union. “CeBIT lab” represents the digital industry’s lab of the future and is also a hub for universities and research institutes. “CeBIT life” focuses on the digital lifestyle, featuring high-tech trends, technologies and applications for all sectors of mobile and intelligent living.

A further essential component of CeBIT consists of the CeBIT Global Conferences: In 2012 some 70 prominent speakers appeared at the conference to sketch out their strategies and visions before an international audience, including Dr. Jeffrey Jaffe, CEO of the World Wide Web Consortium, Kevin Turner, COO of Microsoft, Hakan Eriksson, head visionary and CTO at Ericsson, Hamid Akhavan, CEO of Siemens Enterprise Communications and Mikael Hed, inventor of the popular “Angry Bird” game. In 2012 approximately 3,000 guests from more than 100 nations attended the CeBIT Global Conferences in Hannover. Expect news on this year’s line-up soon.
