World's second largest supermarket chain becomes first reseller on the mainland

Carrefour to sell Dell in Europe

French-based supermarket chain, Carrefour, has become the latest retailer to resell Dell’s PCs through its stores at the beginning of next year.

The deal will see the world’s second largest supermarket chain sell the vendor’s computers in four European countries, believed to include France, Belgium and Spain. It is the first retailer to be allowed to sell Dell PCs in mainland Europe.

Speaking to ChannelInsider, Dell said: "Once the agreement is finalised, Carrefour Group will become the first mass merchandiser in Europe to sell Dell notebook and desktop computers. Further details will be announced once they are available."

The deal follows on from Dell’s deals in the US with Walmart and Staples, Japan with Bic and the UK with The Carphone Warehouse.
