BullGuard has paid out nearly £10 million through its revenue share scheme over the past five years.
Every time customers renew their BullGuard subscription the channel partner (retailer or reseller) receives 25 per cent share of revenue, provided they are still an active BullGuard software partner.
“We offer a great box margin on our products that we believe is far more attractive than anything on offer from our competitors,” BullGuard’s head of global sales Peter Barlow told PCR.
“Assuming ten licences are sold each month – around 120 per year – and that 50 per cent of users renew, this would equate to 60 licences in the first year, and 30 in the second. At an average renewal of £50, this comes to £12.50 per renewal, or £753 in the first year and £1,129.50 in the second.”
Free introduction packs with sales aids, marketing collateral and POS materials are offered to any company that signs up to become a BullGuard channel partner. Existing partners receive updated marketing packs each year to make sure they have the very latest information on the BullGuard range.
“We’re completely transparent about the whole process,” explained Barlow.
“When a licence is renewed on our website, the 25 per cent share shows up immediately in the partner’s account.”
One channel partner, Richard Whiteley, managing director of User Friendly Computing, said: “We have used the proceeds from the scheme to purchase specialist equipment and to send employees to Canada for training on how to use it.”
Another partner, Mary Blackbourn, director of 121 Computers, added: “We have always been very pleased with both the product and support from BullGuard and the addition of the constant revenue is an added bonus.”
