BT release mobile video conferencing app

BT announced the launch of a cross-platform video conferencing mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android OS devices.

The app works together with BT Engage Meeting Manager, a web-based tool that offers meeting templates, custom directories, B2B scheduling, iCal integration and online reporting tools.

BT said that the most powerful feature of the app is its ability to put conference control into the hands of the meeting host for in-room conference control.

"This is just one of the collaboration solutions that BT Conferencing provides to help companies transform the way they do business," said BT Conferencing boss Jeff Prestel.

"This mobile app is the first of its kind and provides our customers with scheduling and call control options, even when they are away from their desk."

The application is compatible with a range of professional videoconferencing equipment from manufacturers including Cisco, LifeSize, Polycom and Tandberg.

The app, called BT Engage, can be found in the iTunes App Store and Android Marketplace.
