Disc mix-up leaves players unable to complete installation

Black Ops II retail copies shipped with Mass Effect 2 disc

Some retail copies of the latest addition to the Call of Duty franchise have shipped with Mass Effect 2 as the second disc.

Black Ops 2 fans who queued up late into last night to be some of the first to play the game will have been disappointed to find a mix-up left them unable to complete their disc installation as their copy of the game lacked its second disc.

Currently, the issue seems to be limited to just PC users who purchased retail copies of the game.

Whilst the second disc is necessary to complete the installation of the game, those affected by the mix-up can enter their game’s serial number into the product activation window within Steam to activate their game.

Of course, these players will have to endure further waiting as the remaining elements of the game are downloaded and installed.

It would seem that digital downloaders are again having the last laugh as they shoot their way through the highly-anticipated title, whilst those unluckily enough to have been affected by the issue can only sit and wait.

One unlucky user highlights the issue (using very strong language) within the below video.
