Microsoft’s Bing search engine has gained 8.23 per cent market share since its launch at the beginning of June.
According to Channel Insider, this has been an increase over Microsoft Search, which held 7.81 per cent of the market prior to the launch of the new engine.
Google’s share dropped slightly from 78.72 per cent to 78.48 per cent, while Yahoo saw its market share rise from 11.04 per cent to 10.99 per cent.
The chief executive of StatCounter – the company that has tracked these results – Adohan Cullen stated: “At first sight, a 1 percent increase in market share does not appear to be a huge return on the investment Microsoft has made in Bing but the underlying trend appears positive.”
