Hot pink and rose gold colours added to the range as part of a 'spring refresh'.

Asus Zenbook now available in ‘hot pink’

Asus is set to add new colours to the firm’s Zenbook ultrabook series, apparently targeting the female market with colours designed to ‘showcase a more tender yet sensual side of technology’.

Asus have two models of Zenbook with the traditional spun metal finish, the 11.6-inch Zenbook UX21 and the 13.3-inch Zenbook UX31. The UX21 will, Asus says, be available in ‘Hot Pink’ from Littlewoods and Argos by the end of the month.

The larger UX31 will be available in ‘Rose Gold’, from PC World and Currys.

So if you see some ultra thin laptops out there sporting gaudy pink and gold tints, you know where they came from. It seems that Asus always considered that fairer sex is a good target for the firm’s super slender ultrabooks.

Even before the pink and gold colours arrived, a video on the Zenbook site shows a model with the Ultrabook which the advert helpfully flashing up "1.1kg", presumably that’s the weight of the ultrabook and not the lass ad. The advert finishes "Do you believe in love at first sight?"

The Asus Zenbook site has images and specs of the ultrabooks, helpfully illustrated with models dressed in matching colours. Isn’t that nice?
