Asus ups its Steam Machine game with the compact Rog Gr8s

Steam has unveiled this year’s hefty range of Steam Machines, including Asus’ Rog Gr8s compact yet powerful console-inspired gaming PC.

The device immerses the player in a full HD gaming world, thanks to the powerful Intel Core i7/i5 processor and NVIDIA GeForce nine-Series graphics, it also has 4K/UHD support and can be hooked up to a HDTV for vivid visuals.

ROG GR8S is future-proof, thanks to its user-friendly upgradable design, with special slide-off covers for easy access to the additional storage and memory bays for quick expansion and upgrades.

ROG GR8S optimised for online gaming, too, featuring Intel Ethernet with 802.11ac Wi-Fi for better throughput; and enhanced networking technology for small online game packets to ensure you have a smooth gaming experience.

The machine features SupremeFX to delivering truly immersive sound, thanks in part to premium components, a design that minimises electromagnetic interference, and numerous audio enhancements.

The Asus Rog Gr8s was first announced back in June last year and isnt available to buy until November this year with with prices starting at about £460.

If Asus isn't your bag then not to worry, there are plenty of other options available. From Alienware's machine with an Intel Core i3 Dual-Core processor, Nvidia GeForce GTX, 2GB GDDR5, 4GB memory and 500GB hard drive, starting at about £317, to the £3310 Origin Omega with up to an Intel Core i7 4770, three-way Nvidia GoForce GTX 980 and up to 32GB of memory plus up to 14TB of storage.

This year's line also includes an Alternate, which has been made for ease of use. This device, which starts at about £780, runs on an Intel Core i3, and Nvidia GeForce GTX 750Ti. The Digital Storm Eclipse has an Intel Pentium processor, 8GB memory and 1TB storage, and is priced at about £460.
