ASUS named hardware partner for one of the world’s biggest eSports tournaments – The International

ASUS Republic of Gamers is the official hardware provider for The International 2016, the eSports tournament with the biggest prize pool in the world ($20 million).

The ROG Strix GL702 and ROG Swift PG248Q have been named as the official gaming laptop and monitor of the Dota 2 gaming competition, which gets underway today (Monday August 8th) and runs until Saturday August 13th at Seattle’s KeyArena in the US.

It’s the sixth edition of The International – an annual Dota 2 tournament where 16 teams compete against one another. This tournament attracts a huge worldwide audience, both online and offline.

"ROG is proud to be the tournament’s official hardware provider, with ROG Strix GL702 and ROG Swift PG248Q selected as official gaming laptop and monitor of TI16," ASUS said in a statement.

ASUS will also join up with joinDOTA, an online portal dedicated to Dota 2 coverage, delivering video cips, articles and video blogs via RoG Facebook, Twitter and the official TI16 website throughout the tournament.

Fans will also have a chance to win a ROG Strix GL702 and a ROG Swift PG248Q by predicting the winner of the tournament.

Last year, Ben Q-sponsored eSports team Evil Geniuses won the tournament, winning a record $6.5 million.
