The Argos website has been rocked by problems over the past week, causing many customers to vent their frustrations online.

The site originally went offline to all customers for "just over half a day" on Tuesday October 28th, following a site revamp, according to an Argos spokesperson as reported by the BBC

Problems persisted in the early hours of Wednesday morning last week, with the following error message being displayed to some customers, as early as 2am: "We're currently experiencing a very high volume of visitors to our website."

Some customers took to Twitter to complain about the message during the non-peak period.

PCR was informed this morning that the website was down again yesterday evening (November 4th), and a quick check of Twitter shows that some users have been having trouble accessing the site between October 29th and today.

Argos took the site down on November 3rd at 10pm for a maintenance update, but as of yet this hasn't resulted in a complete fix.

"Following planned maintenance to our website and apps, we have been experiencing some technical issues which means customers may have limited access to our website at intermittent periods," said an Argos spokesperson.

"We are really sorry for any inconvenience caused. Serving customers is our absolute priority and are pulling out all of the stops to fix the problem as soon as possible."
