Component upgrades for iMac and Mac Pro, adds new 27-inch cinema display

Apple refreshes Mac range

Apple has announced a refresh of its iMac and Mac Pro desktop PCs, with both machines receiving new components.

According to Crunch Gear, the basic iMac now ships with an Intel Core i3 processor, instead of the Core 2 Duo, and features an ATi Radeon HD 4670 graphics card and a 500GB HDD, while top-end systems carry a quad-core i% with an optional quad-core i7, an ATi Radeon HD 5750, 4GB of RAM and a terabyte of storage.

Meanwhile, the Mac Pro is now available with up to twelve processor cores, although USB 3.0 and blu-ray have not been included.

In addition to these releases, the Inquirer reports that Apple has also launched a 27-inch cinema display offering a 2560 x 1440 resolution, which features an integrated iSight camera, microphone and speakers with USB 2.0 and Magsafe connections.
