Brands say they outperformed the market during Q1 2014

AOC and Philips grow UK market share

AOC and Philips increased their share of the UK monitor market during the first quarter of 2014.

The brands say that while the market increased by 14 per cent in Q1 2014 compared to same period last year, the pair say that together they grew their market share by nearly 40 per cent, with Philips increasing its share of the market by more than 70 per cent.

In the Western European market – which grew by six percent in Q1 – both brands outperformed the market with growth rates of seven per cent (Philips) and 11 per cent (AOC), according to figures from analyst Context.

Thomas Schade, Vice President EMEA for AOC and MMD, said: "With both our brands – AOC and Philips – we are always on the forefront of consumer-centric innovation. We are display specialists who entirely focus on this segment and know customers’ needs.

"This approach leads to new categories such as our Android-based All-in-One displays or our brand-new 28-inch 4K UltraClear UHD monitor 288P6LJEB – a state-of-the-art product for the fast-growing large display segment.

"Our innovation-driven approach is rewarded by a continuously growing market share."

MMD is license partner for Philips monitors, and both AOC and MMD are subsidiaries of display manufacturer TPV.
